Are You Missing Your Chance to Work at Home?
Do you have a desire to work at home? Now that we are older and facing retirement, are you looking for a way to stay active, and have a little extra cash for adventures with your grandkids?
Wouldn’t it be disappointing to miss a work-at-home opportunity because of all the misleading advertisements and hoaxes out there? That is exactly what happens to many. Sometimes you can become so focused on a single-minded purpose that you miss the opportunity when it presents itself. Maybe it wasn’t the goal that you started out with, but that doesn’t mean that it’s not the right path to follow.
Years ago, I left my job to stay home with my kids. I felt it as a call from God. But I also had a deep-rooted dream of having a side hustle and growing a family business that the kids could help with. Long story short, we did it. It wasn’t easy; I quit my job and I did start that side hustle that helped my kids learn to be entrepreneurs and learn the value of money.
This has become a lifestyle for me that I continue into my grandparenting years. Now that my grandkids are getting older I am looking for ways to include them in my business so they can learn the same lessons.
If you are looking for a full-time income or just a side hustle you may be looking online for opportunities and are finding that it is not easy. There are Multi-Level-Marketing (MLM) opportunities galore. Some are legit and some aren’t. There are trainings out there that promise to help you start an online store or other business. Again, some are legit and some are not.
An MLM was not what I was looking for, but it ended up being the right road. It’s not something I wanted to spend the rest of my life
Below are five tips by work-at-home expert, author and consultant, Sharon Davis that will help you to avoid missing your chance to work at home and sorting through all the information you will find both on and off line:
- Be open-minded. I have been part of a few MLM companies. Some worked out but some didn’t. But being a part of these companies served as a stepping stone to me. If I had been as closed-minded as many people are about MLM’s, I would not have dipped my toe into the online business world, and be where I am today. Ask yourself, “why not?” and educate yourself before closing the door on an opportunity.
- Recognize when what you’re doing isn’t right for you. Sometimes you work so hard to achieve a goal, you fail to see the forest for the trees. Be honest with yourself and whether or not a situation is right for you.
- Don’t waste your time. We all know by now that there are no typing jobs out there, right? Stop going down the dead-end roads of the home typist, ad placing and mail processor jobs.
- Be flexible. Be open to changing your plans, and even to completely revising your goals. This doesn’t mean that you should spend all your time waffling between one goal and another, but that you should have the courage to follow a different path if it calls you.
- Have faith in yourself to follow through with your goals. It’s so easy to take the path of least resistance and give up. It’s hard work no matter which path you choose, but isn’t it worth it?
